It's Ehren's birthday (again!) 🎂
It’s a bit late in the day (past 9pm in California) but it’s still December 17th—which means it is still the birthday of my main character in The Blood of a Divine, Ehren! 🎂🥳💗 (and since he was born in 1874, Ehren would be 150 years old today!)
Last year, I created a painting of Ehren to celebrate his birthday and I introduced you properly to his character—but this year, I’ve had wrist/hand pain for months, and I’ve had to take a break from drawing and painting so you just get a simple sketch (but Ehren is no less beloved in my heart 🥰)
And this year, you also get a new Ehren quote from TBOAD that reveals the side of him that I love the most…
(I originally had more to say about this quote, but I think I’ll leave it as a teaser/get you all excited and let you theorize what could possibly be the context in which this quote shows up in my book—and why that specific context makes me love it all the more 🥲❤)
Anyway, just wanted to celebrate my [literary] firstborn today because he’s still special to me, even if I don’t have an agent/book deal yet for TBOAD 🥲 I’m also hoping I can do more TBOAD art next year, now that my wrist seems to be on the mend! I really enjoyed getting back to sketching, even though I think I draw Ehren differently now than I used to lol
